(STATEHOUSE) - The circuit breaker property tax cap amendment to the state Constitution passed in the house.
That's the proposal drawing the governor's ire because it replaces his 1% property tax cap with a 1% income tax increase.
Representative Bill Crawford, who introduced the tax cap change in the House Ways and Means Committee, characterized it as a "grandma and grandpa friendly bill".
Dissenters still voted for it just to keep it alive. A conference committee will deal with it next.
