Secretary Rokita Speaks Out In Favor Of Voter ID Law

(UNDATED) - The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments Wednesday over an Indiana law that requires people to present a government-issued photo ID before voting.
Indiana Secretary Of State of Todd Rokita says requiring a state-produced photo identification is an effective way to cut down on vote fraud. Indiana Democratic Party Chairman Dan Parker says the law mostly affects poor, minority and elderly voters.
Support for voter ID laws splits along party lines.
The law before the Supreme Court was passed by a Republican legislature in Indiana -- and is supported by the Bush Administration.
A decision could come by late June.
