(INDIANAPOLIS) - New Year’s Day began the terms of dozens of newly-elected mayors across Indiana.

Westfield inaugurated Andy Cook as the first mayor in its history -- Westfield just became a city instead of a town.

The Muncie mayoral race is still in dispute, with Democrat Jim Mansfield asking for a revote next month in a precinct where absentee ballot problems cost him the election in a recount.

In the meantime, Mayor Sharon McShurley took the oath over the weekend, and begins her term today.
