Daniels Tops Political Power Rankings
(UNDATED) - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels takes the top spot in the 10th annual top 50 power list released by Howey Politics Indiana.
Our partners at Inside Indiana Business report that Democratic Indiana Senator Evan Bayh comes in second and Indiana House Speaker Pat Bauer (D-South Bend) takes the third spot.
Fourth most powerful goes to Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne), followed by State Senator Luke Kenley (R-Noblesville). Sixth is a tie between Indiana Congressmen Baron Hill (D-9th) and former Congressman Mike Sodrel.
Senator Richard Lugar is seventh, while Advance America Leader Eric Miller is 8th. Political newcomer and new Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard also makes the list, coming in at number 9.
Marion County City-County Councilman Andre Carson and State Representative Jon Elrod (R-Indianapolis) tied for tenth. The two are running to replace late Congresswoman Julia Carson.
