(STATEHOUSE) - Governor Mitch Daniels says he’s very optimistic on the prospect of finding a property tax solution this legislative session.

He says the headstart lawmakers currently have is encouraging. He says he never thought when he announced the plan in October that lawmakers would be this far along.

The governor adds the major stumbling block is controlling local government spending. Daniels says this session's agenda will be the lightest he's passed on to lawmakers, due to the amount of time property taxes will take.
