(EVANSVILLE) - Republicans are keeping their eyes on Indiana Democratic Representative Brad Ellsworth as he enters his second year in congress and approaches a likely re-election campaign.
Some political observers say Ellsworth is in a strong position to keep his seat in southwestern Indiana's 8th district.
The former Vanderburgh County sheriff won last year with 61 percent of the vote over Republican Representative John Hostettler.
Indiana State University lobbyist Greg Goode is the only Republican who has announced plans to challenge Ellsworth.
