Hearings For Property Tax Reforms Underway
Last updated on Tuesday, December 04, 2007
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana House Ways and Means Committee has kicked off a series of hearings on property tax reforms.
Lawmakers are discussing governor Daniels' proposal to provide relief, in part by raising the state sales tax.
Purdue Economist Larry Deboer testified the proposed one-point increase would not have a major impact on most Hoosier consumers.
The Senate opens hearings today.
