Former Assessor Takes Over Lawrence Mayor Seat

(LAWRENCE) - Former Lawrence Township Assessor Paul Ricketts is now mayor of the city of Lawrence.
The Republican, who defeated incumbent Democrat Deborah Cantwell, in November, took the oath of office Friday evening.
Ricketts says his top priority is dealing with the crime issues. He says there's money budgeted for additional officers and they'll be looking for other avenues of revenue.
