(INDIANAPOLIS) - Legislative leaders from both parties generally gave Governor Mitch Daniels’ property tax reduction plan a warm reception when he announced it in October.
But during last week's initial legislative committee hearings, some special interest groups and several lawmakers raised some concerns.
Daniels is downplaying criticism that his plan could lead to the biggest tax reduction in state history, saying it creates open discussion about ways to reduce reliance on property taxes.
