(SOUTH BEND) - A hearing on a recount petition sought in Mishawaka’s 3rd district council race is set for Friday.
The petition seeks a recount of the election contest narrowly won by Democrat Ross Deal over incumbent Republican Jason "Maz" Mazurkiewicz.
It was filed Monday on behalf of the St. Joseph County Republican party and its chairman, Chris Riley.
Deal won by five votes.
