Indiana Mayoral Races Still Up In The Air
(UNDATED) - A handful of Indiana mayoral races may not be over yet.
In Muncie, Democrat Jim Mansfield squeaked past Republican Sharon McShurley by just nine votes, with 13 provisional ballots that might yet be added to the final tally.
McShurley says she's likely to seek a recount if she's still behind when the votes are certified. She says some absentee ballots were rejected at the polls.
Republican challengers lost by four votes in Berne and by 16 votes in Bicknell. Both say they're considering recounts.
In Terre Haute, Democratic Mayor Kevin Burke lost to Republican Duke Bennett by 107 votes, a margin of eight-tenths of a percent.
Johnson county's two mayoral races were both squeakers, with Greenwood Mayor Charles Henderson hanging on with 50.9% of the vote, and Independent Fred Paris upsetting Franklin's Republican Mayor Brenda Jones-Matthews by 94 votes, a margin of 2.4%.
