(FORT WAYNE) - A former Woodburn clerk-treasurer has gotten a four-year sentence for embezzling nearly 300-thousand dollars from the city.
William Basting may be able to serve some of the sentence on work release or house arrest.
He pleaded guilty to opening bank accounts in the names of nonexistent voters, then writing phony bills and paying them from city accounts.
