Carson Confirms Cancer Rumor

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Democratic Congresswoman Julia Carson says she has terminal lung cancer.
Carson issued a statement Saturday saying she had been granted a leave of absence from Congress last summer to get treatment for a leg infection. The cancer was discovered at that point, after going into remission "years ago."
The 69-year-old began serving in congress since 1996.
