(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Tippecanoe County residents can begin casting ballots for the November election today.
The first of 13 satellite voting centers opens at a retirement home in West Lafayette. County Election and Registration Board Co-Director Heather Maddox says most of the satellite centers will be in retirement facilities to give residents more opportunity to vote.
She says other pre-election voting locations will open in the weeks leading up to next month's election. They will be at places such as the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, an area church and a supermarket.
Any Tippecanoe County voter who lives in a city or town that is holding an election this year may cast a ballot at any satellite voting center.
This election marks Tippecanoe County's first with the vote center system. It is one of two counties in the state to implement such a method.
