(UNDATED) - Former Congressman Mike Sodrel will announce this afternoon whether he’ll seek a fourth straight matchup with Ninth District Representative Baron Hill.

Hill has been the Democratic nominee in the district in every election since 1998. Sodrel has been his Republican opponent in every campaign since 2002. Hill has won two out of three increasingly bitter contests, with Sodrel unseating him for one term in 2004.

Neither candidate has ever gotten more than 51-percent of the vote -- Hill's half-percentage-point loss in '04 was the closest margin for any defeated incumbent in the nation.

Of the three Indiana House seats Republicans lost last year, the ninth is the only one without an announced challenger, and the only one where the defeated incumbent is considering a comeback.

Civilian intelligence analyst Chris Minor is challenging Second District Representative Joe Donnelly, while Greg Goode, a former aide to ex-congressman John Hostettler, wants to face Eighth District Representative Brad Ellsworth.
