(LAFAYETTE) - Tippecanoe County election officials say a pilot program allowing citizens to cast early ballots at voting centers in the Lafayette area has proven popular so far.

As of last week, about 400 people have gone to four voting centers to make their picks for the municipal election.

The county has set up four voting centers, open for one day each at Lafayette and West Lafayette locations.

Centers will be open more often as election day approaches.
