(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Seventh District Congresswoman Julia Carson has asked for and received another two weeks’ leave of absence from the house while she recuperates for what her office says was a leg infection.

The 69-year-old Carson hasn't been on the floor since she checked into Methodist Hospital September 21 complaining of fatigue and leg pain.

State Democratic Chairman Dan Parker has issued a brief written statement saying the party is praying for Carson's speedy recovery.
