(INDIANAPOLIS) - Bedford state senator Brent Steele chaired a panel discussion on compliance with a federal sex offender law at the Indiana Women’s Prison in Indianapolis.

Steele told the press Indiana is "ahead of the game" in terms of implementing the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, passed by congress in 2006.

The aim of the law is to create a national sex-offender registry and is named after Adam Walsh, the kidnapped and murdered son of America's Most Wanted host John Walsh.
