Rep. Hill Introduces Property Tax Relief Act Of 2007
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Indiana Congressman Baron Hill officially introduced legislation yesterday that would offer relief to people hit by increasing property taxes.
The Property Tax Relief Act of 2007 will allow homeowners to deduct property taxes from their income taxes, regardless of how they file.
Without the bill, the only people who can deduct property taxes are people who itemize deductions.
It is estimated about 40% of taxpayers do not itemize.
