Monticello Mayor Forced Out Of Office

(MONTICELLO) - Monticello Mayor Bob Fox has been forced from office.
A special judge from Starke County sentenced fox to 3 years on probation Wednesday and ordered him to serve 200 hours of community service. He must also pay restitution.
Fox admitted he committed a crime by filing false mileage claims, but his defense attorney says part of the problem was poor record keeping.
Instead of fox, Kathy Altman's name will appear on the fall ballot.
Altman is the White County Democratic party chair. Precinct committee members elected her to serve as interim mayor.
