IURC To Hold Meeting About Coal Gasification Plant

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will host a public hearing next week in Bloomington on Duke Energy Indiana’s plans to build an integrated gasification combined cycle generating facility in Knox County.
The IURC will receive oral and written comments regarding the proposal. Duke energy has proposed the construction of a 630MW electric generating facility in Edwardsport, using IGCC technology to convert coal into a synthetic gas.
