Voting Centers Becoming Popular In Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two areas in Indiana are getting rave reviews for using voting centers in the May primary.

Officials from pilot counties Tippecanoe and Wayne, spoke about their systems and how it worked.

Joann Stewart is a Wayne County election official and says, with the voting centers and satellite absentee centers, voter turnout nearly doubled this year.

Tippecanoe County Clerk Linda Phillips says they dwindled the number of precincts down from nearly 100 to 22, using the voting centers.

County Clerk Julie Chase has hinting at using voting centers in Lawrence County.
