Lugar Discusses Iraq War Comments
(WASHINGTON, D-C) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar is discussing the request he made last week that President Bush pull back U.S. troops currently in Iraq, train Iraqi forces and begin to draw down the American force there.
The comments mark a break with the President's strategy by the Indiana Republican.
Lugar calls for bi-partisan congressional accord on a new Iraq strategy.
He tells CBS' "Face theN" that simply threatening to leave Iraq -- unless certain benchmarks are met by Iraqis -- isn't enough.
