(UNDATED) - A former co-chair of the Iraq study group says he’s doubtful Iraqi forces can hold there own, when it comes to security, at least not in the foreseeable future.
Lee Hamilton says violence in Iraq is a very complex phenomenon. Which is constantly changing.
The former Indiana congressman says the problems do not all stem from Al-Qaida.
However, Hamilton says it is still the number one threat when it comes to terrorist groups threatening the U.S. and others.
Hamilton also says that although the U.S. is going to great measures to protect the American people, it can not protect all targets all the time.
Meanwhile, Joint Chiefs Chairman Peter Pace says the military is weighing a new direction in Iraq, including the possibility of a bigger troop build-up.
