(INDIANAPOLIS) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Richard Young says the property-tax rebate checks approved by the legislature should go out immediately.

The Senate Minority Leader has written Governor Daniels urging him to get the checks moving.

The rebates aren't scheduled to be sent till November at the earliest, because the money to pay for them won't arrive till the state's horse racing tracks apply to install slot machines.

Young says the state should tap the surplus now and reimburse those accounts when the slot fees come in.
