Daniels Appoints New DLGF Director
(EVANSVILLE) - Governor Mitch Daniels has appointed an Evansville woman to head the Department of Local Government Finance.
Vanderburgh County Commission President Cheryl Musgrave will resign that position to become DLGF Commissioner July 16th.
Musgrave has over 12 years of experience in local government as a former county assessor and county commissioner.
Daniels says her experience and expertise will play a critical role in helping other local governments streamline and reform which will in turn, lead to a long-term solution of property tax relief.
Daniels says he believes the DLGF has been too accommodating to local governments in the past which has lead to the property tax crisis man areas are experiencing.
Daniels adds any decision to order Marion County to completely re-assess all properties will be up to Musgrave.
Musgrave replaces Melissa Hanson, who resigned in late June.
