Current Military Strategy Not Succeding, Says Lugar
(WASHINGTON,DC ) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar is one of the most recent Republicans to break away from President Bush’s policy in Iraq.
Addressing an energy forum Thursday, Lugar emphasized the current military strategy is not succeeding. He also criticized the Bush administration for breaking its promise to make renewable energy a priority.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman was one of 20 Republicans who voted for an energy package that includes an increase in fuel efficiency requirements for cars and trucks and mandates the use of 36 billion gallons of renewable fuels by 2022.
