Committee Hearings Held On Property-Tax Reform
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Taxpayers are telling legislators they need the courage to try a new taxing system.
Hundreds of people attended the first in a series of legislative study committee hearings on property-tax reform. A series of hearings is underway on tax reform.
Some speakers aren't prepared to abandon property taxes entirely. They argue property ownership depends on some of the services those taxes pay for, from police protection to stormwater management.
