Bayh Touting Medical Bill For Troops

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Senator Evan Bayh is touting the passage of a bill that aims to improve medical care for thousands of U.S. military members injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Democrat introduced a provision to give soldiers with traumatic brain injuries immediate help.
He says the "dignified treatment of wounded warriors act" allows severely wounded soldiers to retain their active duty status for up to three years in order to receive care through the Department of Defense at specialized private rehabilitation hospitals and facilities.
It also requires the development of a comprehensive plan on treatment for soldiers with traumatic brain injuries.
