(INDIANAPOLIS) - House Speaker Patrick Bauer says a do-over of reassessment shouldn’t stop with Marion County.

Bauer says he doesn't believe the bungled assessment of business property was an isolated problem. He says more counties should have their bills frozen, and says the state should pay the cost of the new assessment.

The state is making Marion County pay those costs. Bauer says the State Department of Local Government Finance shares responsibility for not spotting red flags in the figures it received and approved.
