(INDIANAPOLIS) - Some advocates want the state to come up with money to fund pre-kindergarten programs for children as young as four.

State School Superintended Suellen Reed says that's not a priority right now, but it is something state officials are considering.

Indiana is one of about 10 states that use no state money for pre-kindergarten programs.

Other states have come up with creative financing. Arkansas used a beer tax, Missouri used gambling proceeds, while Louisiana and Kansas used tobacco settlement payoffs.
