Senate Approves Petroleum Amendment

(WASHINGTON) - The Senate has approved an amendment proposed by Indiana Senator Evan Bayh to require the President to implement policies that cut petroleum use by 10 million barrels a day by 2031.

The bill would raise auto fuel economy standards for the first time in nearly 20 years and also make oil industry price gouging a federal crime.
