Board Clears Democrat Of Finance Violations
(FORT WAYNE) - The Allen County election board says the Republican candidate for mayor of Fort Wayne did nothing wrong in how he reported nearly $160,000-dollars in loans for his campaign.
The ruling says Matt Kelty didn't violate campaign finance laws in reporting the loans in the months leading up to his victory in May's Republican primary.
In campaign finance filings, Kelty reported that the loans were personal, when they actually came from two campaign advisers.
Kelty faces Democrat Tom Henry in the election to succeed Mayor Graham Richard, a Democrat who isn't seeking a third term.
