Speaker Asks For Gas Tax Relief

Last updated on Thursday, May 24, 2007

(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana Speaker of the House Pat Bauer has written a letter to Governor Mitch Daniels, asking him to suspend the state’s sales tax on gasoline.

Bauer says the state's treasury should not be enriched on the backs of Hoosiers who rely on their cars.

Bauer says a suspension of the tax could also encourage families to vacation in Indiana.
