(UNDATED) - Indiana Congressman Joe Donnelly hopes his recent meeting with China’s Ambassador to the United States will help him combat intellectual property theft in his district.

Donnelly requested the meeting with the ambassador after he learned of the problems affecting some businesses in his 2nd District.

Some Chinese companies are accused of stealing intellectual property and patented product designs. He says those companies are taking Hoosier designs and passing them off as their own.

Donnelly intends to support legislation similar to Senator Bayh's "intellectual property rights enforcement act" which was recently introduced in the U.S. Senate.
