(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels signed into law a bill that increases benefits for Indiana veterans and their families.
The new law includes provisions to exempt members of the National Guard and Reserves from the income tax, increase the military pay income tax deduction and establish the Veterans' Affairs trust fund.
The governor also signed a measure that outlines circumstances under which an employee may take unpaid leave for military service and requires an employee to return to their same job after returning from service.
