Indiana Maximizing Minimum Wage

Last updated on Monday, May 7, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels has signed a bill that will increase the state’s minimum wage.

The bill is written so that whenever Congress boosts the federal rate the state's minimum wage will increase, too.

Right now, the state rate is $5.15 an hour. Twenty-one states, including Indiana, have minimum wages that are the same or lower than the federal level.
