(SEYMOUR) - A former mayor of Seymour will have a chance to earn that title again in November.
John Burkhart knocked off current mayor Jim Bullard in Tuesday's Democratic Primary, winning the right to take on Republican Craig Luedemann in the city's general election.
Burkhart previously held the mayor's post from 1993 to 2001. About 21 percent of registered voters cast ballots.
