(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels praised lawmakers for having a productive and bipartisan session.

He said debate was, "vigorous but it was civil and constructive". He says some short term property tax relief has been accomplished and will sign the slot machine bill to help further that. He also said allowing local governments to set tax rates will help property owners in the long run. Daniels also says the new health bill will help many uninsured Hoosiers. It still needs the nod of the federal government.

Daniels also thinks privatizing the Hoosier Lottery is a good idea. He would like to see an auction for it and hopes to further discuss it in the next few months for action next year. He would like to have a lively discussion on how the money could be reinvested for great return in the future.
