State's Minimum Wage May Match Nation's Rate

Last updated on Thursday, April 12, 2007

(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana’s minimum wage would be tied to the federal rate under a bill that passed the Senate.

A House bill would have bumped the state's minimum wage to $7.50 per hour, but the Senate change connected it to the federal level, which would go up to $7.25 if a bill pending before the U.S. Congress is approved.
