Peterson Pushes "Indy Works"

(INDIANAPOLIS) - With Indianapolis facing a downgrade in its credit rating, Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson is pushing harder than ever at the state level for passage of his “Indy Works” plan.
Peterson says he is more confident than ever before that the legislature will give that plan and a plan to bring in more money to fight crime in the city the nod, before the session ends in just a couple weeks.
Peterson says "Indy Works" has already gotten the approval of the democratic controlled House and is awaiting a vote from the full Senate.
Peterson has pitched the plan to consolidate township fire departments and governments into the city for several years with little success at the state level.
