Firework Restrictions Under Discussion

(STATEHOUSE) - Last year, legislators lifted widely-ignored restrictions on when and where you can shoot off fireworks. Now they’re having second thoughts.
The House has voted 69-27 to let local governments impose limits on fireworks if they want. Legislators say they've received numerous complaints from people tired of hearing their neighbors celebrate the fourth of July year-round.
The bill does carve out periods of several hours when fireworks must be allowed, during the week of the fourth of July, and on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The Senate must decide whether to accept changes made by the house or negotiate a final compromise version.
