Cigarette Tax Hike Still A Possibility

(STATEHOUSE) - The proposed cigarette tax hike still has a shred of life. That, according to Republican House Minority Leader Brian Bosma.
The cigarette tax was put in a holding pattern, but now it appears a bipartisan compromise to tack it onto another bill is in the works. Bosma says he wants to see the tax at 40 cents a pack.
Governor Mitch Daniels wants the tax, as a way to cover the rising cost of health care of Hoosiers.
Bosma also says he has seen the proposed Senate version of the budget and calls it "more responsible" than the version from House Democrats.
