Methadone Clinic Bill Passes Indiana House

Last updated on Tuesday, March 20, 2007

(STATEHOUSE) - A bill that would temporarily halt the licensing of new methadone clinics and order the state to review the way it regulates them has passed the Indiana House.

The Senate has passed a slightly different version of the bill.

The bill's house sponsor, Representative Steve Stemler of New Albany says the state has 13 methadone clinics, most of them near Indiana's borders. He says about half their customers come from other states.
