(UNDATED) - Indiana riverboat captains are seeing the writing on the wall.
Legislation being debated in the general assembly could make obsolete riverboat captains and their crews. The bill allows slot machines at the state's two horse racing tracks.
It also includes an amendment that would no longer require the state's nine casino riverboats to have a propulsion system. The boats could be docked 24 hours 7 days a week.
Currently Indiana's riverboats are regulated by the U.S. coast guard and have an 11-member crew onboard at all times.
