(STATEHOUSE) - Senators will vote on allowing slot machines at Hoosier racetracks without knowing where that money would go.
Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Chairman Luke Kenley, of Noblesville, had quadrupled a proposed licensing fee for slots to $400-million per track, with the money going to property-tax relief, the state budget, and a new fund to lure biotech researchers. But at Kenley's recommendation, the Senate has deleted that language and left open the question of where slot money would go.
