(STATEHOUSE) - Several legislative issues affecting the state’s gaming industry drew the ire of one group at Thursday’s Indiana Gaming Commission meeting.

Executive Director Ernie Yelton says he's heard the complaints of the Indiana Coalition Against Legalized Gambling, but says his hands are tied. Yelton says protests against recent hot-button issues like a privatized lottery and slot machines at horse tracks will fall on deaf ears with his commission because lawmakers are in charge of their future.

Yelton says his commission has no position on slot machines being installed in the state's two horse tracks, but he says it's fairly clear such a move would create jobs.
