(STATEHOUSE) - The State Senate has approved a plan calling for all elementary schools to adopt full-day kindergarten by the 2009-2010 school year.
Senator Vi Simpson's bill calls for a slow phase-in of the plan, beginning in the fall with children receiving free or reduced-price lunches.
If the House passes the bill and the governor signs it, Indiana would become the tenth state in the union with such a law.
