Opponents Upset With Same-Sex Marriage Amendment

(INDIANAPOLIS) - On a party-line vote, a senate committee has passed a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
About 30 opponents of the ban were ejected from the senate gallery after they began singing "we shall overcome," following the defeat of two democratic amendments which would have delayed the possible effective date from 2008 to 2010.
