Last updated on Monday, January 22, 2007
(WASHINGTON, D-C) - Indiana Congressman Mike Pence is defending President Bush’s controversial plan to increase U.S. troops in Iraq.
The Indiana Republican tells CNN's "Late Edition" the soldier surge is just one part of a major shift in war strategy.
Pence believes growing frustration with the Iraqi war will lead to a hotly contested presidential race. Pence is a ranking member on the Middle East Subcommittee.
